Entertainment Auditions

The Georgia Renaissance Festival is pleased to announce auditions for the 2020 season!

The Georgia Renaissance Festival is seeking a core group of performers to bring the village of Newcastle to life for our 2020 season! We are in search of peasants, pirates, fairies, lords and ladies of all body types, ethnicities, gender identities and experience backgrounds.

We are looking for bold, engaging performers who have additional skills as jugglers, acrobats, storytellers, circus performers, musicians and more. Performers with strong character acting and/or improv skills are strongly encouraged to attend.

We are also looking for actors to portray the historical figures of Henry VIII, William Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci and more.

About the Job:

The street cast works throughout the Festival day on the grounds, interacting and performing for patrons. There are several specific job openings for Fairy Tea Party Hosts, VIP Joust Hosts, Shakespeare Short Performers and more!

All street cast positions are paid. Cast MUST have wide-ranging weekend availability January thru June. Rehearsals will be structured based on experience, expect at least four to six weekend rehearsals/commitments before the Festival opens.

Audition Dates:

Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, January 26th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm each day at the Legacy Theatre, located at 1175 Senoia Rd, Tyrone, GA 30290

Musicians are strongly encouraged to attend on Sunday, January 26th.

Performance Dates:

The Festival runs Saturday and Sundays, April 18th-June 7th, 2020, including Memorial Day, 10AM - 6PM.

What to Expect:

This year's audition will comprise of several component parts for each auditionee. Audition will consist of a cold read, character acting audition and brief interview if needed.

If you have a performance talent or skill, please come prepared to show it off!

If you play an instrument and would like to audition for a spot as a festival musician, please prepare a 1-2 minute performance of a renaissance, pirate or Celtic song. If you are a musician in a group, please ensure that all members of your group are with you.

If you are interested in auditioning for our Short Shakespeare production (a 30 minute comedy show), please prepare a 1-2 minute comedic Shakespeare monologue and be prepared to take redirects.

What to Bring:

Please bring your headshot and resume if you have one. Wear clothing you can move in - Renaissance costumes are not required.

Parking at the Legacy Theatre is located at the rear of the building. Auditions are in the Little Theatre space - the door just to the left of the Stage Door and loading dock area. Please be mindful of any performance that may be in progress inside the theater.
